Measure B
The city council refused to bow to pressure from real estate investors and did not rescind Ordinance 842. As a result, they were forced to call and expensive special election on March 2nd. The cost – which tax payers will have to pick up – is around $85,000. Remember when the election comes around – it was those mostly out-of-town investors who pushed the city into spending that money, because they would not compromise on short-term vacation rental limits.
We must VOTE YES on B to continue the limits the city put in place, and keep our neighborhoods safe and secure for residents.

Task Force Report to Study Session, July 29, 2020
The City Manager reported the findings of the Task Force to the City Council at a study session in July, 2020.
This presentation records the meetings, public comment sessions, and survey work done to prepare the report. It shows that many of the recommendations were unanimously agreed by the members of the task force.
The task force comprised 6 industry representatives, and 5 local residents. On the items where there was no unanimous agreement, in almost all cases, the industry won the vote by their 6-5 majority. More detail HERE
Cathedral City Vision
The ILCC wrote to the City Council criticizing the draft report from the task force. Residents then produced a ‘Vision’ for Cathedal City supporting the draft proposals. Read the Vision statement here.
